I would advocate contesting elections with congress –says NCP supremo Sharad Pawar

Amidst speculations of whether the alliance with the Congress stays or not, NCP Supremo Sharad Pawar has said that he personally is of the opinion that they should fight the assembly polls in alliance with Congress.
There have been reports of how the Congress is confident of winning as many as 110 to 125 seats in 288-member Maharashtra assembly should it contest the coming assembly elections on its own. The state Congress is embarking on a mega exercise as part of pre-poll preparations. The Congress will benefit and can actually win between 110 and 125 assembly seats in Maharashtra if it contested the polls on its own, an internal analysis carried out after the Lok Sabha elections suggests. This “positive” feedback has enthused a strong section within the party to make a strong pitch for going solo in the polls. They feel the party should cash in on this factor and later on tie up with the NCP.
